What kind of person are you? The 4 tendencies (+ this easy dress from LMN&MNT)

Yoooo!

Good thought provoking discussion and a dress that I wear out but also chilling at the house - like everyday. It's that soft.

I like to share stuff that's interesting AND share some clothing. I feel weird writing like, Hey! OMG busy week, work ya know!?! Blah blah here is this outfit!

Feels.....not me. But, anyway. To the post!

People love categorizing themselves.

Either with Myers Briggs, or as a astrological sign. People love finding ways to further understand themselves and their identity. It's related to the self.

'Oh! Tell me more about me!'

Saying all of the above because I truly love that shit. ALL OF IT. Tell me who I am!

So, I found such a good, new way to think about what kind of person you are and how you act based on that.

For me, this really helped to understand my relationship with my decision making process and weirdly, eating.

It's from Gretchen Rubin, who wrote, The Happiness Project. She also has a podcast that I listen to occasionally. It's good! There are definite episodes that I really like.

In a nutshell, under this scheme, people fall into one of four categories.

Upholder, Questioner, Rebel, Obliger.

This all depends on how you respond to external rules and internal rules.

So under this concept, you fall into one of these areas, and live your life accordingly.

You can take the quiz to see which one of these you are!

Upholders wake up and think, “What’s on the schedule and the to-do list for today?”

They’re very motivated by execution, getting things accomplished. They really don’t like making mistakes, getting blamed,  or failing to follow through (including doing so to themselves).

Questioners wake up and think, “What needs to get done today?”

They’re very motivated by seeing good reasons for a particular course of action. They really don’t like spending time and effort on activities they don’t agree with.

Rebels wake up and think, “What do I want to do today?”

They’re very motivated by a sense of freedom, of self-determination. (I used to think that Rebels were energizing by flouting rules, but I now I suspect that that’s a by-product of their desire to determine their own course of action. Though they do seem to enjoy flouting rules.) They really don’t like being told what to do.

Obligers wake up and think, “What must I do today?

They’re very motivated by accountability. They really don’t like being reprimanded or letting others down.

Understanding this is important, because if you want to motivate yourself (or someone else) to do something, it’s key to know how a person will consider and act upon that request or order!

SO WHAT AM I? Well, I am a damn rebel.

But I am also a questioner. Sounds like a super delightful combination, right? LOL. Stubborn and on my own shit, that's for sure.

It's true. I don't know what it is but my motivations are based on some ten year old me that wants to do my own thing, live my own life and is motivated by resisting expectations that people have. So for example, this one thing (this is really personal ha) but my wonderful mother had specific expectations on me related to my weight so sometimes those rear their head, and I rebel, aka eat my face off. Do things that I know don't serve me in that space.

But that's a longer post/conversation.

What I'm wearing in this post:

Dress from LMN&MNT

This brand is super cute - it's festival style, easy breezy and I love how the fabric feels. Super affordable too! Mine is Ella Coachella, and I love how it fits, because it's a line so it goes out around the waist but hits the right spots around the top.

Sunglasses

Lip Color

Midi Rings

Crystal Necklace via Shop Girl Party

Shop Girl Party is a super cute store in California that has unique curated goods you can find online. There customer service is amazing and I love their street style vibe. I also got my Quay Shades that I LOVE, there too!

I've also written about crystals and crystal jewelry here and here.

I LOVED this, and it's just fun. Something light and easy! Which one are you? Do you know anyone that you work with that is a specific one? This may help to understand how they work!

Let me know, let's discuss! I've been thinking about which categories people I know fall into as well, and it's so fun, HA!

P.S. Link your posts this week so I can read them! I love catching up with ya.

I'm on a new level: How to increase energy, and get more life clarity with the Lifestream Generator

Hello guys!

How are you? How are you feeling?

I'm feeling in the flow at the moment, which is good!

I'll share some exciting news next week, but now I am getting ready to go to Chicago for one of my favorite couples wedding! Plus a photoshoot with Free People and Iron + Honey (Chicago photographer).

Free People is goals, and I definitely vibed that one out - so definitely be clear on intentions with what you want!

Okay so.

This post! So excited. We are on a new level of healing, health and spirituality today! You know that I cover everything.

Beauty treatments like cryotherapy, laser light therapy...things like crystals and meditation

It's everything that's purposeful.

Living that 'hundred life'.

(Yah, I'm a loser).

If it's something I can try that will make me feel better in any aspect of life. I'm into it.

I'll try it - and share it with you!

I told you that when I moved to California I was ready to get into some next level stuff. Kundalini yoga, is one of them and it's changed my life.

So, as fate would have it, I found Mitchell and Jade of Trancension

Transcenion, helps people find their true selves, to feel more aligned, healthier, lighter and more vibrant. They have so many different ways they work with people, but we felt like the 'Lifestream Generator' would be the best first thing.

The Lifestream Generator is REALLY new age/forward thinking Los Angeles thing that helps you to improve your life both physically, spiritually and emotionally.

Come to L.A., say you're on that Lifestream Gen shit, and you get major spiritual/yoga community street cred.

Benefits of the Lifestream Generator:

Improved Performance

Reduced Visible Aging

Restored Mental Balance

Increased Energy

Helps with Stress Management

Increased Longevity

Sharpened Mental Clarity

Increased Intuition

From Mitchell and Jade, my angel facilitators who did my treatment:

You would use the LifeStream for a wide variety of things like; eliminating stress and anxiety, physical pain and injuries, expanding consciousness, clearing heavy emotional baggage, increasing your hyper awareness and intuition, just to name a few.

We have personally seen the LifeStream clear major blocks emotionally, mentally, energetically and physically.

One of our clients experienced a massive increase in energy after being absolutely drained all day everyday.

Another client was able to simply sit in the energy in a deep meditation and find her life purpose.

A lot of the time we see huge emotional purges even on the first session which allows for more connection with the self as well as dropping completely into the present moment.

One of our most recent clients had a Staph Infection and was in severe/chronic pain for several weeks with an abnormally swollen leg. After three sessions back to back, over 90% of the pain was gone and in the next week his cells had the energy to begin its own healing process.

Overall, the LifeStream works case by case with your intentions as well as what your body truly needs at that exact moment in time.

Details! What the Lifestream Generator is:

The Lifestream Generator uses Radiant energy waves to send a Unified Field of Energy through the body and in the process raising the cell voltage of all parts of the body thus bringing back a balance to oneself and allowing the body and mind to bring itself back into well being. Radiant Energy Technology when produced causes oneself to re-connect to the planets Earth Pulse and will naturally bring you back to balance from all surrounding exposures to energies that cause imbalances (EMF, RFI, power lines, etc.)

The benefits are nearly instantaneous. Your body and mind will relax within minutes and will proceed to eliminate your stress centers of the imbalances that cause the body to store or hold these harmful imbalances.

The LifeStream is most effective when the energy is directed into the body through a hands on energy transference.

From my perspective, it's a big white light energy generator.

Almost like a battery, that recharges your cells and breaks blockages in your energetic field. If you think about all the things that might dampen your energy (stress, pollution, junk food...) this would help to recharge you up!

Also, you know muscle fascia?

How it holds your muscle and body together? It's almost like a netting, and the Lifestream Generator, breaks down the energetic blockages in your body.

I felt like my muscles were SO RELIEVED after, and my shoulders have never been so relaxed.

What is the process like:

An initial session begins with you sitting in the energy for 10-15 minutes to experience it and then we direct the energy into you, which opens your energy meridian system.

The energy is directed into you via your healer, in my case Mitchell, touching the electric generator and then touching spots on your body where there is tension like your shoulders or neck. It's an electric current so it travels from the healer to you, and ends in you.

Then every session after that, you get to have 30 minutes of the energy directed into the body to help remove all the blocks that aren’t serving you anymore. All you have to do is stand on a marble grounding plate and receive!

Here’s a link of what a session looks like with Mitchell and Jade:

https://youtu.be/_AzAA5_app8

What I felt:

There's a lot of digging deep, getting into meditation and preparing for the session. It's definitely intense, and you're going go really think about things could be holding you back from your biggest dreams. You'll discover or reveal any limiting beliefs you have.

The whole process, is like being shocked and having the entire bit of your muscle fascia release. It's almost like you feel all the muscle and connective bits being released.

it's hard to explain, but it's like you have this pulse of energy going over your whole shoulder, face and arm area. Waking up all senses and connections, you can FEEL the blockages removed and all the energy going through making connections and releasing tension.

It's seriously unlike anything I've ever done before.

Ever. Physically so radical (in the truest sense of the word!)

I feel physically like there was a tension release, and spiritually, since my session I feel clarity.

So cool right? I will be doing sessions once a quarter to continue to see the progress and change. It's one of those things where, it feels right!

The cost varies at each location where you could do it, but via Transcension it's $80 a session, and you can buy packages.

Since I know a lot of my readers aren't in L.A. to do the Lifestream Generator, there's still something you can do from home to make a positive impact on your life or well being today.

Via Mitchell and Jade,

Stop everything you’re doing, get in a comfortable position and literally take 2 minutes to yourself.

Close your eyes and take three deep breaths in.

Notice any tension and with every release of the breath, visualize the tension flowing out of you.

Set a positive intention for how you’d like your day to go and with every cell in your body see that intention happening!

Be sure to use an “I AM” and “I NOW” statement so you declare it in the present moment.

Avoid using the word “want.” Wanting just means that you don’t have it yet and you're in a state of lack.

It's most important that you feel with every cell in your body what it'll be like when everything you desire is here NOW!

Ex: You're not at your dream job. “I NOW have my dream job at…”

Or if you’re going on a date later tonight. “I am so grateful for an amazing connection on this date”.

Reveal your creativity with Big Magic + my favorite summer uniform

Hi you! Happy Monday!

Glad you're here :)

How are ya? How was the weekend? What did you do?

TBH, lately I've been capital B BORING.

I am super heads down working and trying to make things happen with the blog. I have friend time in between, but right now, in this season of my life, I need to really focus on what's in front of me.

Connecting with you through this blog medium right here.

(Or these here!)

So, Monday is back, baby. Here we are!

I wanted to write on two things.

First, this jumpsuit. I'm not always into writing a straight-up fashion post, so I'll be brief. But this thing is THE BOMB.

Comfortable. All black. Bell bottom with lace-up sides. I LOVE this thing. I wear it every date night and it's super comfortable.

Plus it's on sale for $31 freaking dollars.

Second, as we check the mornings email (potentially depressed from the thought of another week) it's a good time to think about joy, and finding creativity this week.

Big Magic, the book by Elizabeth Gilbert is all about that.

For real though, ya'll need to read this book.

For the creatives or non-creatives, the message is applicable to anyone and everywhere.

(Especially my blogger friends!)

Big Magic is a reference to living a more creative existence, period.

From my perspective, it's removing the pressure we place on creativity. Making space to be creative without having an end goal. Bringing more joy back into it.

Every single one of us has the ability to be more creative. To live in less fear (of what people think, of failing, of looking stupid...) and live in more joy.

It's applicable to Monday especially, because being creative doesn't mean your quitting your job and going all in on your passion sometimes.

Your creative outlet, doesn't need to pay the bills or be validated by others. It only needs to feel good for YOU.

Whatever it is, if it's bringing you joy, that is enough.

Often we see glorified stories of people quitting their jobs, refinancing their houses and finding overnight success with a major innovative idea.

But that may not work for everyone. Being creative isn't only going zero or hundred.

(See what I did there).

There's a place for everyone to be creative, and for creativity to do something for you that doesn't have to radically change your life.

A creative life is an amplified life. It’s a bigger life, a happier life, an expanded life, and a hell of a lot more interesting life. Living in this manner—continually and stubbornly bringing forth the jewels that are hidden within you—is a fine art, in and of itself.
— Big Magic

We can find creativity in small actions. Creating, because it brings you joy.

Nothing more, nothing less.

For a bit more on the actual book, This book review from The New York Times, explains it well.

Big Magic” is broken into six sections: Courage, Enchantment, Permission, Persistence, Trust and Divinity. Gilbert wonders in the first,

“Do you have the courage to bring forth the treasures that are hidden within you? . . . The hunt to uncover those jewels — that’s creative living.” If the creativity inside of you has not burrowed deeper than ever before upon hearing itself referred to as a “treasure” and “jewels,” it is more stalwart than mine.

But Gilbert spends much of the book coaxing out even the shyest creativity with a kind of extended pep talk: Creativity is inside all of us, it should be expressed, and it is not selfish or crazy or foolish to do so — it is, in fact, the best way to live a satisfying life. Gilbert’s advice reads like a positive fortune cookie: a nice surprise you will forget once the taste of won tons has faded from your mouth. Creativity is “your birthright as a human being”; “Even if you grew up watching cartoons in a sugar stupor from dawn to dusk, creativity still lurks within you”; “You are not required to save the world with your creativity.
— Villa Paskin, The New York Times

Do whatever brings you to life, then. Follow your own fascinations, obsessions, and compulsions. Trust them. Create whatever causes a revolution in your heart.
— Big Magic

I know what I want from life doesn't have a linear path to follow.

Reading the book helped to normalize and affirm a belief that I am a creative being. It also reminded me that I need to be kind to my creativity.

Being creative has brought me joy, and allowed me to express myself in a way that helps me to lead a more fulfilling life. It's allowed me to feel more like 'myself' than ever before. It's made my existence feel UNIQUE and special. Because only I can do what I do. Yes there are SO many other bloggers, but the fact that it's me writing Hundred, makes all the difference.

Which goes the same for your life. Only YOU can bring your own unique perspective, experience, ideas, enthusiasm and spice to whatever it is you are called to do.

You can do it without quitting your job, and you can do it because creativity is inside of all of us. It doesn't make you selfish or weird or crazy. You can take a photography class once a week. You can take up painting after dinner (maybe instead of Netflix). You could start making your own jewelry! There are so many ways to add a bit of creativity to your life.

Thus, adding a bit more joy.

It's just the best way to lead a satisfying life.

Isn't that what we all want anyway?

But back to you.

What do you think? Have you read the book?

What are your current creative outlets? I'd LOVE to know how you find joy in expressing yourself. it could give good ideas to others!

I find this blog to completely fulfill me in that way. It's photography, editing, writing, connecting, design....so many things!

You could also consider fashion, or dressing yourself as an expression of your creativity. Cooking, writing, photography, painting, ice-skating, dancing by yourself at the bar....

It's endless!

Guys, jumpsuits and inspired ramblings on this Monday.

LIFE.

Cannot wait to hear what you think! Let a sister KNOW.

xoxo
