A few months ago I cut my hair short, and was pretty much obsessed. I'm like, blunt bobs all day bitches! It's so easy, and it's so fresh!
Then two weeks later I was completely over it, and wanted it long again. For some reason I just feel better about myself with long hair? Short hair done the right way with the right bone structure is EVERYTHING. When it's rocked appropriately, it's truly the best. But my round face just can't seem to always feel good about it.
My hair dresser from NYC (at Michael Angelo's Beauty Wonderland in Meatpacking) moved to Denver, so when I saw him during a visit to Denver, he goes,
"Remember when everyone cut their hair short, thought it was so amazing for a week, and then immediately wanted the length back"
HA. For me, that's true. I know other babes who are KILLING the short hair right now, tho. So it's all relative!
I don't know what it is, but my hair has definitely been my security blanket for as long as I can remember. It's sort of a trademark/my one endearing quality that I cherish. I think right now I want to keep the length for my youth (not sure what that means). I also got best hair in high school so that was probably the closest I've been to winning something in my life you know?!
Even back in the day when I was highlighting my hair to the heavens, a bleach blonde, I was all about the length. Honestly, I should probably do a 'high school/college' Krista post and share my extension laden LOCKS. It's amazing.
So now that I decided to grow my hair out, I needed some help to speed the process. Everyone says Biotin, which I've taken for quite some time, but I never felt like it did anything super drastic. It was like, probably a myth.
My current hair inspiration, below:
Then I found Vivisical. I'm not sure exactly when or how, but I thought to give it a try in hopes of mermaid locks.
What it is:
This stuff is seriously the real freakin' deal.
There are many factors that influence healthy hair growth. These encompass a wide range of emotional and lifestyle conditions that can prevent the body from effectively absorbing the essential nutrients it needs to support healthy hair. Whether it's hormonal changes or birth control, I feel like my hair thickness and ability to grow has changed. Stress poor diet and over-styling also play a factor!
- AminoMar®: The groundbreaking, clinically proven marine complex available exclusively in Viviscal supplements. Derived from key marine protein molecules combined with a blend of Horsetail (Stem) Extract and naturally occurring Silica, it provides essential nutrients needed to promote existing hair growth from within.
- Biotin: Also known as Vitamin H, it is a water-soluble Vitamin B complex (Vitamin B7) that helps the body to metabolize carbohydrates, fats and amino acids, which are the building blocks of protein and thus essential in the formation of the hair structure.
- Vitamin C: A powerful antioxidant that helps to absorb more Iron into the blood, which in turn promotes hair growth. Vitamin C in Viviscal supplements is sourced from the acerola cherry.
- Iron: An essential mineral that has several important roles in the body, Iron helps to make red blood cells, which carry oxygen around to cells in the body, including hair follicles. Thinning hair can be one of the visible symptoms of anemia (Iron deficiency).
How to take it:
I've been taking Viviscal for about 4 months, and probably noticed results around 3 months, but want to continue to have it grow. You take the vitamin 2x daily, one in the morning and one in the evening with food.
Since I started taking it 4 months ago I have noticed such a difference in the thickness, and length of my locks. It's now my official favorite vitamin to take, and the only where I actually notice the change.
Where to buy it:
I get mine from Amazon, you can using the link below:
I'll basically take a pill for anything. Ha, honestly and I've tried so many!
Also guys I know I may act like it, and it totally seems like it, but I'm not a doctor, so don't take any of these recommendations like I am a doctor, hehe.
I think that's all I can write about hair growth vitamins. LOL. I hope this helps as an add to your beauty routine! Even if you're on the short hair game, it makes your hair thicker and stronger, so that's always a plus.
Also guys it's weird to be in California for the Holidays! It's like 75 and sunny, no snow in sight! AH! I sort of miss it!
What is everyone doing? Lot's of travel and family? I feel like i want updated from everyone!
Have the best week, almost ending 2015!
